Initial Backup For Large amounts of data

For our customers who sign up with any package of 50 GB or more with a large amount of data that needs to be backed up initially, RescueMe Backup will deliver either an external USB hard drive, or a SnapServer at no extra charge (USA Only). The USB drive has a maximum capacity of 2 TB, or 2000 GB, with anything higher than that requiring the SnapServer, which will be configured based on your needs. Once the data has been copied, simply ship it back using a prepaid shipping label we will provide. Once this data has been loaded onto our servers, incremental backups will allow you to keep it up to date without uploading for hours or days.

What shipping method will be used?

The USB drive or snapserver will be shipped overnight to your location, with a prepaid shipping label for overnight delivery back to our datacenter.(USA Only) International shipping please contact us.

What if the drive/server is lost or stolen during transit?

Either method supports using the RescueMe Backup software to do the initial backup, which encrypts your data using bank-level security encryption. Without your password the data on the drives cannot be accessed.

Will you assist in setting up the intial backup?

Absolutely, when you recieve your drive or snapserver, you can call us for help in getting it set up.

Our software comes with advanced Continuous Data Protection which can be set to capture every version of data that has been saved to your hard disk. With CDP, even if your hard drive crashes completely after you have worked for a full day without invoking backup manually yourself, the saved copy of your working files will still be intact on the backup server. It provides a highly dependable means of real-time, continuous protection for file servers and desktops.

Being SaaS (Software as a Service), the RescueMe Backup system is inherently designed for use on multiple computers by the end user. What this means in practice is that you need only purchase a backup account of an appropriate size–you are not restricted by the number of computers that can back up to this account. This results in what we call “portability”, the ability to backup machine A, and immediately recover that data on machines B, C & D. It makes sense that since it is your data, you should be allowed to back it up from any of your machines, and likewise, restore it to any of your machines. It is all kept in one, easy to manage backup account.

Special NOTE: Our major competitors require a separate account or subscription for each computer. This makes immediate recovery difficult, as you cannot simply recover your files from a secondary machine, but must purchase a second license. This is both frustrating and costs you more.
